Okay, so people around the globe were impressed with the Draconid meteor shower on October 8th...but now it's time to count down to the next meteor display on autumn's meteor schedule. Next up - the Orionid meteor shower on the mornings of October 21 and 22! The Orionids usually wait till the wee hours of the morning to pick up steam. It may be a little tough to spot hese fast-moving meteors and bright fireballs with the waning crescent moon interfering. But for meteor enthusiasts like me, even one meteor streaking along in a bright moonlit sky can be breathtaking. Give it a try!
